To use the CoaguChek XS test strips, a small sample of capillary blood of only 10 µl is sufficient. To avoid contamination, the blood sample is placed outside the reader. The blood sample can be applied to the top or side of the test strip. The specific shape of the test strip ensures that the blood drop is sucked in. When using the CoaguChek XS strips, patients are not hindered by the blood collection and the application of the blood sample. Thanks to the built-in "on-board single channel strip control: OS2C" quality control, the CoaguChek® XS PT Test strip guarantees total safety. This control detects in an absolutely safe way all test strips that have not been stored correctly. Each vial of CoaguChek XS test strips is provided with a code chip. The code chip contains information about the test method, lot number and expiry date. The chip is unique to a batch of CoaguChek XS test strips.
