Ethilon is a surgical monofilament nylon suture (Polyamide 6)
The Ethilon suture glides smoothly through the tissue and forms a secure knot.
Ethilon sutures are generally available in blue or black to improve visibility within the tissue. They can also be purchased in an undyed version.
Black Ethilon is suitable for use in closing the skin.
The thinnest Ethilon suture is attached to a needle for use in, for example, eye surgery, microsurgery and plastic surgery.
The thicker suture is attached to a needle and is used for closing the skin, amongst other applications.
