The Mepore Pro surgical island dressing 9 x 10 cm is a sterile, self-adhesive dressing that effectively absorbs blood and exudate and reliably covers the wound. The semi-permeable backing film is shower-resistant and forms a protective barrier against water and external contamination. Thanks to the soft, elastic backing, the dressing effortlessly conforms to the body’s contours; this enhances comfort and minimises edge lift, even on mobile areas. The all-round polyacrylate adhesive layer provides firm yet skin-friendly fixation, ensuring atraumatic removal and minimising epidermal stripping.

Structure and function: semi-permeable barrier and absorbent wound pad
Mepore Pro is an island dressing with an absorbent, lightly adhesive wound pad that promotes wound healing and maintains a stable microclimate. The pad allows wound exudate to pass through an open structure to the absorbent core, whilst contact with the wound bed remains minimal. The semi-permeable top layer allows water vapour to escape, which helps prevent maceration of the periwound skin, whilst simultaneously repelling external influences. The backing film also acts as a viral and bacterial barrier against microorganisms > 25 nm, providing extra protection for the wound environment during the healing phase. The 9 x 10 cm size offers a generous margin around the incision or lesion for secure sealing and stable fixation.r
