More info
Mepilex Up is intended for the treatment of a wide range of exuding wounds at all stages of healing, such as chronic wounds (e.g. leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers) and traumatic wounds (e.g. skin lacerations and secondary healing wounds).
Mepilex Up can be used by laypeople under the supervision of healthcare professionals. 1. Clean the wound in accordance with clinical practice. 2. Dry the skin around the wound thoroughly. 3. Select a suitable dressing size, taking the following into account: For low-exudate wounds, the dressing must cover at least 1 cm of the surrounding skin for small wounds and at least 3 cm for large wounds. For moderately to heavily exuding wounds, regardless of the size of the wound, the dressing must cover the surrounding skin by at least 5 cm. The dressing can be cut to size to suit different wound shapes and locations. 4. Remove the first protective liner and apply the adhesive side to the wound. 5. Remove the remaining protective liners and smooth the dressing onto the skin. Do not stretch the dressing. 6. Secure the dressing with a bandage or other fastening if necessary. The interval for changing the dressing may be several days. Change the dressing before it is fully saturated, at signs of leakage, or as indicated by clinical practice. Mepilex Up can be used under compression dressings and in combination with gels. Disposal must be carried out in accordance with local environmental procedures.
